The wines of the Camargue are less known than those of the big appellations, but they have a character of their own, shaped by the sun, the salt air and the sandy soils of the delta. A tasting workshop with local producers is a direct way to discover them. The producers explain the vineyards, the grape varieties, the way the wines are made and the link between the land and the glass.

The workshop is conducted in a relaxed manner. Each wine is presented with its context, and the participants are invited to smell, taste and compare, with a sheet to note their impressions. The producer answers questions and shares anecdotes from the estate, which helps the group to understand the work behind each bottle.

The format works well as a seminar evening, a welcome moment or a lunch with a focus on local produce. It can be paired with a regional meal or a cooking workshop, and the number of wines, the length of the session and the setting are adapted to the group and to the season.

Objectives

  • Discover the wines of the Camargue directly from the producers
  • Teach a group how to taste and compare wines in a structured way
  • Create a convivial moment around the produce of the region

How it works

  1. 1The producer welcomes the group and presents the estate and its vineyards.
  2. 2The wines are poured in a set order, with a short explanation for each one.
  3. 3Participants taste, compare and note their impressions on a tasting sheet.
  4. 4The session closes with questions and a shared toast with the producer.

Good to know

  • Tastings are for adults, and water and a light snack are provided alongside the wines.
  • Participants are encouraged to taste responsibly, and transport arrangements are planned in advance.
  • The selection of wines depends on the producers available and the season.

Can the tasting be held for a large group?
